Downtown Windsor’s premier Lebanese culinary experience is yours to enjoy at Mazaar Restaurant. The contemporary decor, ethnic ambience, live entertainment, and traditional Middle Eastern cuisine creates exciting fun for guests who continually return to “the place you must visit” (the literal translation of Mazaar). Friendly service and welcoming guests like they’re family is part of the Mazaar mindset.
Upon entering Mazaar the wonderful aromas and detailed decor immediately stimulate guests’ sensations. The warm lighting, earth tones, leather chairs, shiny wood tables, stone arches, Moroccan lights, textured walls, and plan floors define the trendy urban interior mixed with traditional decor. Three dining areas are available and can be booked for special occasions or corporate events.
The Lebanese cuisine is tasty, healthy, and authentic. All meat is Halal and a wide range of dishes will please vegitarians too. You’ll find traditional food like hummus and fluffy pita bread made fresh on the premises. An emphasis on fresh local ingredients ensures excellent flavour to meet Mazaar’s high standards of quality. In the tradition of a family gathering the food is made for sharing.
An amazing selection of appetizers is available for everyone to savor. Examples, include marinated calamari squid rings served with mild sweet chili sauce, and baba ghanooj made with charbroiled eggplant pureed with tahini, lemon juice, and fresh garlic. Traditional favorites include deep fried spiced falafel, grape leaves stuffed with rice, tomato, onion, and parsley, and several varieties of kibbi.
A variety of zesty soups and salads are tasty, healthy, and include vegan items too. From lentil soup to fattoush, and tabbouli to falafel salad, the flavour will please any palate. Of course savoury salad add ons are available including chicken shawarma, feta cheese, salmon fillets, shrimp skewers, and halloum cheese.
Middle Eastern style grilled dishes include chicken shish tawook, chicken shawarma, spiced lamb chops, and shish kafta made with lean beef mixed with chopped onions and parsley.
The main courses include classic beef, lamb, and chicken dishes like Mediterranean chicken prepared with black olives, spinach, and tomato sauce topped with feta cheese and served with beryani rice. Vegans will enjoy the loobya b’ziet made with fresh green beans, finely chopped onion and garlic simmered in a tomoato sauce served on a bed of vermicelli rice.
Seafood specialties include black tiger shrimp kabobs, red pepper salmon, spicey basa fillet fish, and pan seared lemon tilapia.
There is also a selection of platters made for sharing with family and friends. The veggie dinner platter and duo BBQ platter are popular. The Mazaar feast platter is fit for kings. Finally, a favourite is the Chef Platter which serves about four guests and includes fattoush, hummus, tenderloin shish kabob, shish tawook, shish kafta and chicken breast shawarma served with beryani rice.
An excellent selection of domestic and imported beer, frozen drinks, and wines are available.
In addition guests will enjoy energizing entertainment. On Thursday nights Mazaar comes alive with live jazz music from professional saxophonists for “Sax-up Your Thursday Night”. On Wednesdays enjoy the sensual shaki belly dancers as they sway and hypnotize guests with their authentic Arabian moves. Friday and Saturday nights a keyboardist fills the restaurant with pleasant Middle Eastern music.
Every aspect of this upscale Lebanese restaurant located in the heart of Windsor’s core makes Mazaar a memorable venue that people crave and rave about.
