Amherstburg River Lights Winter Festival 2019

Opening ceremonies of Amherstburg’s 13th Annual River Lights Winter Festival at Navy Yard Park takes place on Saturday November 16, 2019, and the festival runs thru January 5, 2020.
The Amherstburg River Lights Winter Festival features Victorian and children’s themed LED light displays, period costumes, horse drawn carriage rides, carolers, and bell ringers in one of the prettiest towns in Ontario. Stop by any evening 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm until January 5th to view the holiday light show. Special events take place every weekend during the festival mainly at the Gingerbread Warming House.
Children and those young at heart will enjoy a screening of the holiday movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on a giant outdoor movie screen starting at 5:00pm. Also at 5pm greet over 500 Santas as they participate in the Super Santa Run/Walk.
The Ginger Bread Warming House will officially open for the season and this year’s Ginger Bread House Contest Display will be unveiled!
Children will also enjoy cookie decorating at Toddy Jones Park inside the Gingerbread Warming house.
Watch the Mayor’s welcome, Provincial Marine cannon firing, and “Lights On” at the Ceremonial Christmas Tree at 6pm.
The evening finishes with a fabulous fireworks display over the Detroit River.
