Jamaican rapper, Sean Kingston with special guest Christee Palace at St. Clair College

The St. Clair College Student Representative Council presents Jamaican rapper, Sean Kingston with special guest Christee Palace at the St. Clair College Student Life Centre on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

This epic concert celebrating nearing the end of the 2018-2019 school year is only open to St. Clair College students, staff and alumni, for themselves and one guest.

Enjoy all the hits you grew up listening to performed by Sean Kingston and his effortless infusions of dancehall, reggae and hip hop.

Sean Kingston is a self-proclaimed product of his past, the rapper’s history helps describe his sound. Born in Miami, Florida, then raised in Kingston, Jamaica from the age of six, he mixed more than a little dancehall and reggae into his hip-hop. The hard lyrics come from a hard life, which included incarceration, homelessness, and growing up a lot faster than he should have. This more polished, smoother, and less hardcore stance suited the singer and figured heavily into his self-titled debut full-length. His sophomore release, Tomorrow arrived in 2009 and featured the singles “Fire Burning,” “Face Drop,” and “My Girlfriend.” In 2013 the single “Letting Go (Dutty Love),” with special guest Nicki Minaj, appeared, along with his third album, Back 2 Life. Keep an eye out for Kingston’s comeback this year, with album Made in Jamaica.

Windsor native, blue-haired Christee Palace (formerly Christie Palazzolo) is a pop singer/songwriter hailing from a large family of musicians who is now based in Toronto.

Christee got her start achieving local and Canada wide success with her first EP “Alive Today” and two follow up singles— her songs “Out of Time” and “Light It Up” both charting in Canada’s Most Active Indies chart in their first few weeks on radio. This drove her to pursue music on a larger scale, relocating to Toronto Ontario to record her newest EP with a vibrant new team of writers and producers.

Christee’s captivating charisma and polished live show have gained her exciting performance opportunities. Her full EP is set to release summer of 2019.
