The annual Emancipation Day Celebration Dinner & Dance hosted by the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, this year being dubbed “Celebrating Progress” takes place at the museum on Saturday, August 28, 2021.
This event recognizes the 187th anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery in Canada in 1834 and the federal recognition of Emancipation Day in Canada.
This outdoor event features a chicken dinner and an evening of dancing, with live entertainment performed by the Windsor-based band The Black Orchid. Dancing, silent auction, and fellowship await you. This year’s celebration is generously sponsored by LiUNA! 625, Arbor Memorial Inc., Joe Meloche Ford, and Amherstburg Chevrolet Buick GMC . The event is also made possible by the Detroit Memorial Park Association Inc., and other generous donors.
