Chicago’s Jazzy Andy Pratt Made Stops at Phog Lounge & Dr. Disc Records

Chicago singer-songwriter and jazz musician, Andy Pratt was in Windsor dropping off copies of his latest releases to Dr. Disc Records and then putting on a live performance at Phog Lounge on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

Pratt’s debut album Horizon Disrupted was released in May of 2017. He just released a 6 track EP, Further Disruption, in May of 2018. Both of the releases are now available in downtown Windsor at Dr. Disc Records located at 471 Ouellette Avenue.

Pratt headed to Phog Lounge for an early evening performance in “Canada’s Best Live Music Venue,” as named by CBC Radio 3.

As a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter & photographer, Pratt loves the fuzz, blur, grain, & beautiful imperfections of live music and art. With an affinity for analog recording, vintage instruments, film cameras, string quartets, & brooding melodies, his music lives within a modern impressionist world of his own creation. Pratt is a storyteller who sings to clearly evoke a mood, space or time. With a dry vocal and reverberating guitar, he brings his listeners into the world he’s created.

Eyes On Windsor photojournalist Noah Gecelovsky stopped in to enjoy some of Pratt’s set when he played at Phog Lounge and shot the photos in this post.

Noah Gecelovsky is a young photojournalist and St. Clair College journalism program graduate. He has covered events across Windsor-Essex County for the college’s Scene Magazine and the MediaPlex. As a freelance photographer, he has shot bands in cities across Southwestern Ontario and Michigan. When on the opposite of the camera lens, Noah is the talented drummer of Blues rock band, The Dead River Kings.
