Grove Brew House becomes certified establishment for sourcing local food and drink.
This past week, The Grove Brew House in Kingsville became the second certified Feast On establishment in Windsor/Essex. Feast On, a program of the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance, recognizes businesses committed to sourcing locally grown and made food and drink. General Manager, Shaen Harrison, is proud to be part of this program.
“From day one, our team at The Grove Brew House have strived to source local ingredients as much as we can,” says Harrison, “It not only allows us to provide a fresh and unique selection, it helps stimulate our local economy and support regional vendors. This is something we believe is critical now more than ever.”
To become certified by Feast On, establishments must meet criteria of 25% of Ontario sourced food ingredients and 25% Ontario sourced drinks. The Grove exceeded these minimums by presenting a menu of 51% local food and 94% local drink. Head Brewer, Donavan McFadden, expresses the importance of using local ingredients for their craft beers.
“It’s simple, you can’t make great beer without great ingredients,” explains McFadden, “From partnering with local coffee roasters to brewing with our own backyard-grown hops, sourcing local is a big part in what makes our beers provincially and nationally recognized.”
The Grove Brew House has just released it’s new menu and their seasonal beer selection continues to grow. They are currently open for dine-in and takeout options. They can be reached by calling (519) 712-8812 and located at 12 Main St E, Kingsville, ON.
