Local yoga teachers and practitioners united in mind, body, spirit, and philanthropy at several beautiful parks across Windsor, Lasalle and Tecumseh during Yoga 4 Hope In The Parks in support of Transition To Betterness (T2B) on Saturday, August 22, 2021.
Some of Windor Essex County’s best yoga teachers donated their time to teach one hour classes throughout the day in local parks. Class fees went towards supporting ongoing Transition to Betterness programs which help hospital patients, with life altering health issues, and their families while in hospital.
Sisters Darlene Szecsei-Albano and Judy Beale, in honour of their late sister Maggie who lost her battle with cancer in 2002, founded Yoga 4 Hope. In 2018 they partnered with T2B who took over the event and continue it’s legacy and benefit to the community.
Last year the annual Yoga 4 Hope fundraiser pivoted to an outdoor socially distanced event due to the pandemic and this is the second year for the outdoor format.
With class fees and dentations from the community and sponsors including The Stephanie & Barry Zekelman Foundation, Lisa & Brian Schwab Foundation, and Windsor Regional Hospital, Yoga 4 Hope In The Parks raised $18K this year.
Eyes On Windsor publisher and photographer Eric Bonnici was pleased to take on the role of official photographer for the event. He photographed some of the classes throughout the day at Lakewood Park in Tecumseh, Brunet Park in Lasalle, and Coventry Gardens in Windsor.
