Local artist Derkz (David Derkatz) has just released a limited edition print run of his mural in tribute to frontline healthcare workers during this COVID-19 pandemic.
One of Canada’s largest murals of its kind (perhaps the largest), it features a local doctor and nurse, and is painted on the south outside wall of The Penalty Box Restaurant at the intersection of Tecumseh Road East and Walker Road in Windsor, Ont.
Derkz has produced a limited print run featuring the mural. It is his first ever official print release. “So much went into my first legitimate print release and I’m stoked,” says Derkz in a Facebook post. “This would be a perfect thoughtful Christmas gift.”
Derkz gifted the first print to Penalty Box owner Van Niforos and his team at the restaurant for all the support they gave him during the project. The high quality gicleé print was one of ten limited edition extra large 20”x44″ hand embellished framed versions, signed and numbered by the artist. An additional 20 extra large non-hand embellished versions were made.
In addition, 300 limited edition 15”x34” high quality giclée prints, signed and numbered by the artist have been produced.
All prints have a choice of artist-choice framing options and come with a certificate of authenticity. 50% of proceeds go to a Covid relief fund in Windsor, ON.
