Alexander Mackenzie built Mackenzie Hall in 1855-1856 before becoming the second Prime Minister of Canada in 1873. Mackenzie Hall is located in Windsor’s historic Old Sandwich Towne and originally served as the County Court House and jail. Today Mackenzie Hall is a cultural centre for the City of Windsor, with performing arts space, theatre, art galleries, meeting facilities and a ballroom for private rentals and special events.
