Rose City Sport & Social Club Brings Recreational Fun For Adults To Windsor Essex

Launched in the Fall of 2013, Rose City Sport & Social Club (RCSSC) members enjoy co-ed, for-fun Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter sport leagues and social events. The club, exclusively for adults, has already reached 1200 members in Windsor Essex and is growing. Registration for 2015 Fall leagues is open until Wednesday, September 16, 2015.

Described as “recess for adults”, RCSSC exists to improve the quality of life for adults in Windsor-Essex through fun, friends, fitness and connection to the community.

There are countless studies and reports that describe the benefits of structured play and sports participation for kids, such as healthier body weight, improved teamwork skills and increased confidence. Adults can enjoy the very same benefits of play.

“Most participants are between 22-34 years of age, though the club welcomes anyone 19 years or older”, says Kyla Woodcock, Founder & Director of RCSSC. “40-50% of participants join because a friend who already plays with RCSSC invited them to join in the fun. Others have heard about the club through RCSSC’s network of partners, including John Max Sports & Wings, as well as local community news outlets. Like all new community organizations RCSSC is working hard to raise awareness about the club.”

“We’re still one of Windsor’s best kept secrets.” explains Kyla.

Rose City Sport and Social Club founder Kyla Woodcock and Sport Coordinator Sam Courtis.Kyla founded RCSSC because she knows first-hand the impact that a Sport & Social Club can have on the quality of life for adults. She played flag football and volleyball in a sport & social club before founding a club. Kyla has run the Forest City Sport & Social Club, in London, for over six years now, where she and her team bring fun, friends and fitness to over 12,000 members each year. “My husband’s family lives in Windsor,” Kyla said, “so we wanted to make a difference in this community.”

The RCSSC staff has just grown to include Sam Courtis, RCSSC’s new Sport Coordinator. Sam is now leading the RCSSC team in Windsor, which includes a Member Services Coordinator, and a team of Game Coordinators who oversee every game RCSSC plays.

RCSSC is offering 6 different sports and activities this Fall including Dodgeball, Flag Football, Court Volleyball, Basketball, Bubble Soccer & One Hit Wonders (a curated collection of cool, non-sporty experiences). RCSSC welcomes registration from solo players, small groups and full teams. Corporate teams are also welcome.

Rose City Sport & Social Club is a fun way for adults to have fun, stay fit, network, enjoy old friends, and meet new ones too.

The registration deadline for Fall 2015 leagues is September 16.
