Local Windsor band Atmora emerged victorious at Rock For Dimes 2015 earning them an invitation to perform at Windsor’s Fork & Cork. The band will perform at the festival on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 2pm.
In addition to being invited to perform at Fork & Cork, Atmora took home the prestigious Rock For Dimes Windsor 2015 Trophy. Atmora and participating bands in the competition were all winners because they helped raise money as part of their participation in the event. All proceeds raised will benefit March Of Dimes Canada’s programs for children and adults with disabilities.
Rock for Dimes is part of a series of fundraisers held across Canada. Since its inception in 2005, the event has raised over $1.2 million.
Local bands battling against Atmora included Lawrence Hank, Bear Patrol, Loving Margot and Know Vacancy in front of judges, Eyes on Windsor founder Eric Bonnici, Candice Dennis, Marketing Director for 100.7 CoOL FM, Caesar’s Windsor Entertainment Director Tim Trombley, and Jeff Burrows of Tea Party Band. Jay Stevens of 100.7 CoOL FM did a fantastic job as the evening’s emcee.
Atmora will perform at Fork & Cork on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 2pm. This metal band is made up of Bailey Soulliere (vocals), Nathan Schiller (guitar), Michael Schiller (bass), TJ Dowhaniuk (drums), and John Serio (guitar).
Atmora’s music is influenced by Dream Theater, Nightwish, and Iron Maiden. The band is excited to take the stage the same day as another one of their musical influences, Big Wreck.
Zucatto recently delighted fans with an acoustic performance at Venue Music Hall where he opened for The Tea Party’s Jeff Martin for the Bluesfest Windsor Kickoff Party on Friday, June 26, 2015. Bluesfest Windsor takes place July 10-12, 2015, the weekend after Fork & Cork.
Last year Tea Party rocked their hometown crowd when they headlined the Windsor Fork & Cork Festival. This year Fork & Cork 2015 is bringing in an incredible line up of headline acts including Everlast, Big Wreck, and U.S.S. Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (for details see Fork & Cork 2015 Serves Up Extra Big Headliner Musical Line Up).
Organizer Chris Mickle of Protenders and The Dominion House Tavern says, “Fork and Cork is 100% local, except for our headliners. We utilize international headliners to draw people to the festival to hear our local talent.”
This will be the fourth year Windsor Fork and Cork Festival returns showcasing the best art, music, wine, and culinary delights that windsor Essex County has to offer, including culinary based demonstrations and presentations.
In 2014 over 26,000 people attended the festival which was impressive for a third year event. As the momentum of this festival continues to build along with enhancements planned for 2015 organizers are setting their goal on over 45,000 attendees.
Organizers say capacity is limited this year but entry is guaranteed by pre purchasing a weekend pass/wristband. Pre sale Admission prices are $10 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates are first come first served. The weekend pass guarantees by passing the line at the festival gate. Weekend wrist bands are available online for $20 at OurEvent.ca or in person at The Dominion House Tavern.
Children 12 and under are admitted for no charge and this is a family oriented festival before 9pm.
Save the date because many local bands like Atmora and Justin Zuccato will be featured along with this year’s Fork & Cork Festival headliners at the Riverfront Festival Plaza July 3-5, 2015.
