Following Kingsville’s Santa Claus Parade, dozens of beautiful holiday light displays lit up Lakeside Park when Santa and Mrs. Claus, with help from Mayor Nelson Santos and several children, flicked the switch to kick off the 26th Annual Kingsville Fantasy of Lights celebration.
As the Kingsville Santa Claus parade made its way along Main Street and Division Road thousands of people of all ages smiled and waved as it passed by. The parade featured everything from horses and marching bands, to community groups and organizations including, a crowd favourite, goose mascot/character from Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary.
The highlight of the parade of course was Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. People young and old cheered for them with joy.
The fun continued at Lakeside Park when a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky immediately after Santa flicked the switch to light up the holiday displays in the park.
Earlier in the evening, before the parade and flick of the switch, the community enjoyed a fun dinner with Santa. For those who missed it, there’s an opportunity to eat with Santa on November 25 during the Kingsville Breakfast With Santa & Children’s Activities event. Tickets for the breakfast are $5 per person and purchasing them in advance, at Kingsville Arena, is recommended. They will be available at the door if available. The crafts and activities portion of the event is free admission.
The Kingsville Fantasy of Lights celebration and holiday lights display will run through January 7, 2019. During this time the park can be toured aboard the Kingsville Fantasy Express train on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition, on those days, enjoy warm beverages inside the Gingerbread Gazebo located at the Lakeside Park Pavillion.
