WIFF 365 Monthly Film Screenings | July 2018
July 12 @ 3:20 pm - 9:40 pm
WIFF 365 hosted by the Windsor International Film Festival features monthly film screenings on the second Thursday of every month at the Capitol Theatre. The next WIFF 365 takes place on Thursday, July 12, 2018.
Films being screened in July and Michael Mayer’s THE SEAGULL and Xavier Beauvois’ THE GUARDIANS.
THE SEAGULL at 3:30 pm & 8:20pm
The heartbreaking and funny story of friends and lovers, all of whom are in love with the wrong person. The movie is timely in its depiction of the tragic consequences of narcissism, particularly on young dreams and romantic love.
THE GUARDIANS at 5:45pm
The year is 1916, the year of Verdun, perhaps the most important year for the French of the entire war. The women of the Pardier farm, under the deft hand of the family’s matriarch, must grapple with the workload while the men, including two sons, are off at the front. When a young outsider to the area arrives, her help is initially welcomed; Francine is a good worker, honest and upright. But when the sons return on leave, emotions are stirred, in turn ruffling local sensibilities — and prompting a powerful narrative pivot.
Tickets are available for purchase at www.windsorfilmfestival.com/tickets/ by credit card, or by cash at the door one hour prior to the first film.
Tickets are $14 for adults, and $9 for students (with a valid Student ID) and should be on sale by June 25.
