Enjoy a live in studio performance of the radio classic War Of The Worlds at Sho, Art, Spirit & Performance on Monday, October 30, 2017.
First airing on October, 30, 1938, the radio classic War Of The Worlds was written by Howard E. Koch and directed and narrated by actor and film maker Orson Welles. It was an episode broadcast as part of New York’s Mercury Theatre on the Air radio series. It became famous for allegedly causing mass panic among the public who thought the fictional news reports were real. Many terrified listeners were convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place. The broadcast was an adaptation of H.G. Wells’ 1898 novel of the same name.
