Toronto’s Great Lake Swimmers With Windsor’s Leighton Bain In Concert
June 2 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Toronto’s Great Lake Swimmers with special guest, Windsor’s Leighton Bain, will perform live in concert at the Olde Walkerville Theatre on June 2, 2018.
2018 marks the 15th anniversary of Great Lake Swimmers. Over seven albums, multiple EPs, live broadcasts, and reissues, the Toronto-based project led by singer-songwriter Tony Dekker has established itself as a beloved indie folk act in their native Canada and beyond. The CBC has called them “a national treasure” while their music has taken them around the world, sharing a sound that is at once familiar and distinct, using the tools of folk music as the starting point to delve deeper.
Leighton Bain is a singer/songwriter from Windsor, Ontario. Leighton has spent recent years finding his voice in the Canadian Indie Rock scene – always considering the intent listener and those that appreciate an effective combination of lyric and melody. “A kindred spirit to the likes of Dylan, Lightfoot and Simon. There is a familiarity in his music and in his songs, an intimacy that draws you in like the comfort of an old friend.” (The Drive Magazine Apr 2014).
Doors open at 7pm.
Leighton Bain will take the stage at 8pm.
Great Lake Swimmers take the stage at 9pm.
Tickets will be available at the door for $25 each.
