About The Windsor Symphony Youth Orchestra

The Windsor Symphony Youth Orchestra (WSYO) formed in 2004 along with the Windsor Symphony Junior Youth Orchestra (WSJYO). The group helps young people develop their talent and realize their full potential through the experience of making music at a high level of excellence. However, participating in the Windsor Symphony Youth Orchestra is not just about the music. It also involves learning about cooperating with others and working together in a professional environment.

The WSYO is open to young people ages 13-22 who play orchestral instruments. The orchestra plays at least three concerts a year, including the annual Side by Side concert with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

The junior orchestra (WSJYO) is open to string players ages 8-14.
