Windsor Caribbean Roots and Rhythm Music Festival

The inaugural Windsor Windsor Caribbean Roots and Rhythm Music Festival, a rich heritage showcase of authentic music, food and art from the African and Caribbean culture, takes place at Windsor’s Riverfront Festival Plaza on July 27 & 28, 2018.
This all new 2 day festival will feature a wide range of international, regional, and local Reggae, Soca, and Caribbean musical acts, authentic Caribbean food, art, crafts, and a variety of vendors.
Entertainment headlining the festival are Rupee, Glen Washington, Alison Hinds, and Third World.
Celebrating 45 years, ‘Reggae Ambassadors’, Third World is one of the longest-lived Reggae bands of all time.
Jamaican Reggae legend, singer, songwriter and drummer. Glen Washington, is known for his smooth, raspy, bass voice.
Crowned the undisputed “Queen of SOCA” by her fans worldwide, Alison’s powerful, emotional vocals and high-energy live shows are regarded as an iconic staple in the landscape of Caribbean music.
Rupee is one of the foremost artists in the intoxicating musical movement known as soca (soul + calypso) – the supercharged party music of the Caribbean. He is a major force in the eruption of innovative pop/urban-influenced Caribbean artists who are changing the face of music worldwide.
Also performing are Roots Vibration Band, Universal Xpression, Bravesoul Shi, King Arubis, D.C. Roberts, Phantom, Ras Tonei Willy Fergison, Clement Gordon, and Seycon Nadia.

Friday, July 27, 6pm to midnight
Saturday, July 28, noon to midnight
Tickets are $25 for Friday night, $35 for Saturday night, or $50 for a full weekend pass.
