This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the end of WWI (The Great War) and Canadians across the country will pay tribute with the “Bells of Peace.”
Bells of Peace To Ring at All Saints Church at Dusk
At sunset on November 11, the bells will ring at Parliament Hill, city halls, places of worship, military bases, Naval vessels and at ceremonies across the country to honour Canada’s Veterans and commemorate the end of the First World War. The ringing of bells emulates the moment in 1918 when church bells across Europe tolled as four years of war had come to an end. When you hear the bells toll on November 11, take a moment to pause and remember all those who served and sacrificed. In downtown Windsor All Saints Church will ring their Bells 100 times at dusk.
Each November 11, Canadians pay tribute to the sacrifices of those who have served their country in the military in times of war and peace. All are welcome to join in honouring their contributions to the freedoms we hold dear here in Windsor and across the country.
