4th Wall Music presents the Nature of Music, featuring music, a guest speaker, and information about our local environment, at the Capitol Theatre on Sunday, May 5, 2019.
Bringing to life music that flows like water, gusts like wind and supports like the earth. Join Liesel Deppe – flute, Roman Kosarev – viola, Amy Ley – harp, Jennifer Goltz – Soprano and guest speaker Richard Wyma – General Manager/ Secretary-Treasurer of the Essex Region Conservation Authority to learn more about our local environment and revel in the sounds of nature inspired music.
Soprano Jennifer Goltz specializes in new chamber music, opera, and cabaret. Her reputation for interpretive sensitivity, vocal virtuosity, and musical precision has inspired dozens of composers to write for her. Her collaboration with composer-pianist Logan Skelton spans two decades, two continents, and numerous song cycles. She is a founding member of the new music ensemble Brave New Works and has appeared with Milwaukee-based Present Music. She recorded the role of the god Pan in Kamran Ince’s opera Judgment of Midas for Naxos; she can also be heard on Albany, Centaur, MSR Classics, AMP, and Blue Griffin Records.
Flutist Liesel Deppe is a member of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and a substitute musician with both the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony. She has been teaching the University of Windsor since 2015 while also managing bookkeeping and ticketing for London Symphonia.
Roman Kosarev, violist, enjoys his career as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. He the Principal Violist at the Windsor and Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestras, He actively performs with numerous orchestras in Michigan and Ontario, including, London, Kingston, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Midland, Battle Creek Symphonies, and Blue Lake Festival orchestra.
Amy Ley, Harpist, has been hailed by critics as “one of the most sought-after performers on her instrument in Windsor and Southern Michigan and it is easy to see why.” – The Windsor Star. Amy holds both Masters and Bachelors of Music degrees from the University of Michigan. She is the Principal Harpist with the Windsor Symphony, Flint and Ann Arbor Symphonies and plays regularly with many other ensembles including the Grand Rapids Symphony. She performs in chamber concerts, education and musical outreach events across the US and Canada. Amy also champions new works written for the harp as a member of the new music ensemble “Brave New Works” and is the harp instructor at Hillsdale College and the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan.
