Enjoy a spectacular view of the stars during Dark Sky Night at Point Pelee National Park on Saturday, December 9, 2017.
Point Pelee National Park is staying open to midnight.
With the first official day of Winter on the doorstep, sunset comes early and the nights are long. The dark night sky is now a sight to behold with Orion, Taurus, and all the other constellations of the cold weather season making their debut.
Point Pelee National Park is designated as a Dark Sky Preserve by the Windsor Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.
Be sure to dress warm and bring your binoculars or telescopes.
These dates offer the darkest skies for optimum viewing due to their proximity to the new moon
