Celebrate The City of Windsor’s 125th Birthday and 11th Annual Mayor’s Walk along the riverfront on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Join Mayor Drew Dilkens for the 11th Annual Mayor’s Walk followed by the City’s 125th Birthday Celebration.
These free family oriented events mark the beginning of the truly impressive 2017 summer festival season. The celebration not only provides Windsor residents with the opportunity to enjoy Victoria Day weekend with family and friends, but brings us together for a community celebration of Windsor’s birthday.
Everyone is invited to gather at Assumption Park. The Mayor’s Walk (joined by the Memorial Cup this year) begins at 10:00AM en route to Dieppe Park where the walk will stop with members of the Great Canadian Flag Project team to officially raise the gigantic new Great Canadian Flag that will now fly on Windsor’s waterfront. .
Following the walk everyone is encouraged to stay and enjoy a big celebration at the Vision Corridor (corner of Riverside Drive and Bruce Avenue, next to the Chimczuk Museum and Art Gallery of Windsor, and in front of the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre and Adventure Bay Family Water Park presented by WFCU Credit Union.
Memorial Cup Part of Mayors Walk and Windsor’s Birthday Celebration
The 99th Edition of the MasterCard Memorial Cup is being held in Windsor and as part of the Memorial Cup Community Tour and Celebrations the cup will be a part of this year’s annual Mayor’s Walk and City of Windsor 125th Birthday Celebration.
Walk For BANA Part of Mayor’s Walk 2017
The Annual Walk For BANA (Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association) will take place along side the annual Mayor’s Walk.
