Join Mayor Drew Dilkens for the 13th Annual Mayor’s Walk followed by the City’s 127th Birthday Celebration.
These free family oriented events mark the beginning of the truly impressive 2019 summer festival season. The celebration not only provides Windsor residents with the opportunity to enjoy Victoria Day weekend with family and friends, but brings us together for a community celebration of Windsor’s birthday.
Annual Mayor’s Walk – 10:00 AM
Everyone is invited to gather at Ambassador Park in the morning for The Mayor’s Walk which begins at 10:00AM.
Warm up with Parks, Recreation & Culture, and Facilities staff. Mayor Drew Dilkens, members of City Council and special guests will be on hand for the event kick-off, and representatives of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County will be there too handing out country flags representing the homelands of many cultures and heritages that make Windsor such a multicultural and diverse place to live.
The Mayor’s Walk will once again proceed along the waterfront from Ambassador Park to Dieppe Gardens. Everyone will pause at the base of the Great Canadian Flag for the singing of our national anthem and then continue back through Dieppe Gardens toward the Vision Corridor adjacent to the Art Gallery of Windsor, Adventure Bay Family Water Park and the Chimczuk Museum.
Windsor 127 Birthday Celebration – 11:00 AM
Following the walk everyone is encouraged to stay and enjoy a big celebration party with stage entertainment, food, activities, birthday cake, and more.
