Bluesfest Windsor 2018

LiUNA’s Bluesfest Windsor is North America’s 9th largest blues festival and one of the top 12 blues venues in North America. This year Bluesfest 2018 is celebrating 24 years so come “Feel The Power” at Windsor’s Riverfront Festival Plaza on July 12-15, 2018.
The following legendary bands were among a diverse and high-powered lineup performing at Festival Plaza during the four-day event back in 2017: Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Fabulous Thunderbirds Featuring Kim Wilson, Foghat, and Stray Cat’s Slim Jim Phantom. Attendance was the largest since LiUNA took over the festival in 2014. In fact, the record breaking 2017 crowd was more than double just the year before.
In 2018 there’s going to be a whole lot of shakin’ going on and organizers have stated this is going to be the biggest Bluesfest yet! Organizers announced the lineup on February 21, 2018 during a media conference. In fact, LiUNA Bluesfest Windsor president Rob Petroni stated, “we’ve already surpassed year two ticket sales online without even announcing any of our headliners.” So you better hurry and buy your tickets before they sell out, especially after hearing the bands that have been announced (see below).

This world class music festival features the top blues musicians from North America and around the world. The festival originally started in Windsor, Ontario, in 1995 along the city’s main street, Ouellette Avenue. Since that time the festival has grown and now occupies the Riverfront Festival Plaza. Over the years Bluesfest Windsor has grown into one of Canada’s premier Blues festivals!
Since 2014 LiUNA Local 625 has supported the festival through donations of funds, helping to organize the event, providing volunteers and more. In 2016, LiUNA Canada partnered with Bluesfest Windsor as the major sponsor and the event has been renamed the LiUNA Bluesfest Windsor Feel the Power Festival.
Bluesfest Windsor was reestablished as a not-for-profit organization in 2014 comprised of a volunteer Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Special Committee members committed to providing Windsor and Essex County with an annual, premier concert festival and a notable regional tourist attraction. Bluesfest Windsor supports and sponsors community charities and Keeping the Blues Alive initiatives for all ages.
United Way Windsor Essex was the main organization to benefit in 2015 and Transition To Betterness in 2016 and 2017.
