This world class music festival features the top blues musicians from North America and around the world. The festival originally started in Windsor, Ontario, in 1995 along the city’s main street, Ouellette Avenue. Since that time the festival has grown and now occupies the Riverfront Festival Plaza. Over the years Bluesfest Windsor has grown into one of Canada’s premier Blues festivals!
Since 2014 LiUNA Local 625 has supported the festival through donations of funds, helping to organize the event, providing volunteers and more. In 2016, LiUNA Canada partnered with the Bluesfest Windsor as the major sponsor and the event has been renamed the LiUNA Bluesfest Windsor Feel the Power Festival.
Bluesfest Windsor was reestablished as a not-for-profit organization in 2014 comprised of a volunteer Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Special Committee members committed to providing Windsor and Essex County with an annual, premier concert festival and a notable regional tourist attraction. Bluesfest Windsor supports and sponsors community charities and Keeping the Blues Alive initiatives for all ages.
United Way Windsor Essex was the main organization to benefit in 2015 and Transition To Betterness in 2016.
