The Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce and River Town Times newspaper are proud to support the 5th Annual Amherstburg Black Friday event on November 24-26, 2017.
Many Amherstburg businesses are coming together to offer amazing deals on Black Friday weekend which encourage residents to shop local. Amherstburg is the only community in Essex County to compete with the stateside Black Friday sales.
“Black Friday benefits our business by bringing together the local businesses and having one big event, bringing in old and new customers and giving them some much appreciated savings,” said Lynn Sinasac, owner of The Village Shoppe.
More shoppers are realizing they can get the great deals they are looking for right at home, while saving the cost of travelling the border as well as the higher rate of exchange and taxes.
“Being a border town, Amherstburg businesses feel the effect of the U.S. Black Friday more than most towns who are a greater distance from the border,” explained Carolyn Davies, president of the Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce. “As the season shifts, every community that benefits from additional visitor traffic in the summer feel the effects of a shift in spending power that supports their communities to stay vibrant.”
The River Town Times will release 16 pages of deals when they print the November 22, 2017, edition of their newspaper. The publication can be found online at http://rivertowntimes.com
