48 Hour Street Sleep Supporting The Downtown Mission of Windsor

48 Hour Street Sleep, organized by Greg Lemay, is a voluntary 48 hour homeless experience in support of the Downtown Mission Sanctuary programs taking place from Friday, November 16 to 18, 2018.
Community champion Greg Lemay is an advocate for the homeless in the community and is holding this event to raise awareness about homelessness in Windsor and to support the Downtown Mission as it continues to recover from severe flood damage. The hardship resulted from the heavy rainfall and flooding that occurred in Windsor back in September. The event will help raise funds and re-stock the selves with food lost in the flood.
Non-perishable food items and winter gear donations (winter coats, boats, hats, gloves, socks, etc.) can be dropped off at the trailers that will be on site during the event.
Organizers are asking that hot food, beverages, and snacks are not brought / donated to those participating in the event. In order to gain the full experience, they need to find their own meals, place to sleep etc.
Monetary donations can be emailed via Interac banking transfers to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt from the Downtown Mission. Full name and address needed in the e transfer.
Participating in the event will count for high school student volunteer hours. For those interested please contact Greg Lemay.
