Simple Plan with special guests Huttch kicked off the popular Canadian rock group’s World Tour right here in Windsor. The concert was in support of Transition to Betterness. The concert rocked Windsor fans at the Olde Walkerville Theatre on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to honour Richard and that’s how this whole thing started,” says Zaharchuck. “Richard loved the fun side of radio and Richard was an amazing philanthropist,” says event coordinator Cathy Zaharchuck of Blackburn Radio Inc.
The concert was an intimate show with the multi-platinum Canadian band just two days before Simple Plan released their new album ‘Taking One For The Team’ on Friday, February 19, 2016. The band will officially kick off their World Tour in Madrid, Spain on February 24, 2016.
Opening for Simple Plan was local Windsor indie rock trio Huttch made up of Sebastian Abt (lead vocals and guitar), Zack Vivier (bass) and Robbie Cervi (drums). The is known for their wild, spot on, and contagious live performances.
A special VIP sound check meet and greet took place just before the show. Guests enjoyed the bands setting up for the show and were able to meet them up close and personal.
Our photographer took some great shots in the dressing room as Huttch prepared for the show.
In all a total of $14,103 was raised in support of Transition to Betterness.
