LIUNA 625 presented the 13th Annual 24 Hour Drum Marathon with Jeff Burrows at Good Time Charly last weekend (May 24 and 25).
Not even a week after completing the North American leg of the Tea Party Black River Tour, Burrows never seems to stop, and he was right back at it keeping busy supporting the community.
Benefiting from the event are House of Sophrosyne, Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services, Harmony in Action, In Honour of The Ones We Love, Canadian Mental Health Association, and St. Clair College Scholarship Fund. Jeff Burrows started drumming non-stop from midnight May 25th to midnight May 26th with a different band joining him every hour or so. Proceeds to be distributed by Champions For Change.
Last year’s event banged out a record breaking $40K, the total raised this year is still to be announced. Working behind the scences to organize this event and deserving much credit is community supporter and live music supporter Gary Demmanes.
Gary posted on Facebook, “Another great year of music and friendship. Where do I start to thank everyone that helped out. The sound persons Adam, Jeff, Kris and Dave were amazing, the bands that donated all their time and talent, the staff at Charly’s , Long and Mcquade for donating the sound equipment and all the sponsors that helped make Jeff’s 13th year a success. Thanks for everything and already planning the 14th Drum Marathon. Send me a message if your are ready to play again.”
