Season 10 of the award winning drag queen competition reality T.V. show, RuPaul’s Drag Race, wrapped up earlier this summer and is currently on an all new Werq The World Tour, with a stop planned near Windsor, Ontario, just across the border, in Detroit at the MotorCity Casino and Hotel Sound Board Theatre on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
Locally the community gathered to enjoy the annual Windsor-Essex Pride Fest this past August, with eccentric drag queen performances being the highlight of the weekend. For those who are looking for for more drag, then Werq The World will blow them away with a line up of “celebrity” queens.
The Detroit tour stop will be hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8 winner, Christopher Caldwell, aka Bob The Drag Queen. The evening will feature live performances by some of the series’ most unforgettable queens including newly crowned Season 10 winner Aquaria, runner-ups Asia O’Hara, Kameron Michaels, and Eureka; as well as veteran queens Kim Chi, Valentina and Violet Chachki.
“Werq the World is the OFFICIAL Drag Race tour for a reason,” says Michelle Visage. “This is a theatrical production of the highest caliber with Drag Race favorites delivering what you crave! You will leave the theater walking on air with joy. It’s a night you won’t soon forget!”
“These queens are celebrating a decade of RuPaul’s Drag Race with fierce looks, never-before-seen theatrics and over the top production numbers,” adds producer Brandon Voss. “The tour is a collaborative effort and it’s incredible to watch the girls come together on some unbelievably creative numbers.”
RuPaul’s Werk The World Tour is produced by Voss Events, and Drag Race producers World of Wonder and VH1.
