This past Sunday, December 2, RockStar Music Hall hosted the 2nd Annual Kaleb Houle Fundraiser for Children’s Charities.
The fundraiser was started in 2018 to raise money to help the family of 13 year old cancer warrior Kaleb Houle deal with medical expenses and to ease financial burdens allowing them to be with him during his battle. Unfortunately the courageous young man succumbed to the rare form of lymphoma before the fundraiser was held. The event went on and the focus became that of a celebration of Kaleb’s life.
A couple of months ago, Tea Party drummer Jeff Burrows approached Kaleb’s parents, Devin and Jennifer Houle and offered, with the support of sponsor Liuna 625, to host another fundraiser in Kaleb’s name. The result was a family friendly event featuring games, entertainment and generously donated raffle items.
Local band of young musicians “Leave Those kids Alone” returned this year as the feature entertainment. Special performances also included the youth of world renowned choreographer, Melissa Williams’ Border City Dance Company and young singer Ava May.
Between ticket sales, raffle items and a Go Fund Me campaign, almost $8,000.00 was raised. The money will be split three ways between the Kaleb Houle Foundation and two other yet to be determined children’s charities.
