Culinary awards were handed out to Parkside Grille, Twiggs Bar & Grill, Just Jeff’s Gourmet Express and Thyme To Go at the 2016 Battle of the Hors D’oeuvres on Thursday May 26, 2016 at Caesars Windsor in the Augustus Ballroom.
Many of Windsor Essex County’s top chefs from restaurants and hospitality businesses competed at the area’s most popular and longest running food competitions hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex Foundation. This year marked the events milestone 30th anniversary.
Guests were food critics for the night and voted for their favourite hors d’oeuvre. The competitors were placed in restaurant or hospitality/catering divisions. A People’s Choice Award was awarded overall for first and second place.
In addition, a celebrity panel of judges picked the Critic’s Choice Award winner in each division.
Last year’s Critic’s Choice Award Judges all returned, including Ted Whipp, Chef John Kukucka from Essex Golf & Country Club, Chef Daniele Palanca from Ambassador Golf Club, and Pina Ciotoli from Windsor Eats.
