Art of Beer 2013 at Walkerville Brewery Featuring Artist Julia ConlonWalkerville Brewery has commissioned acclaimed Walkerville artist, Julia Conlon, to capture the prohibition years for their second limited edition Holiday label. The painting titled, ‘Prohibition Years’, as well as Walkerville Brewery’s release of their holiday seasonal beer, Milk Stout, will be unveiled this Friday, November 22 at the brewery (525 Argyle Rd.) in Old Walkerville.

Walkerville Brewery is proud to feature local artists (Motor Marc Lacourciere, first edition: Pre-Prohibition) on our labels for our holiday season packaging. “Having Julia in the neighborhood makes this very special and recreating the prohibition years through her strokes of the brush makes it even more significant by capturing Walkerville’s past while applauding its future.” Chris Ryan

“When I opened Julia’s Art studio in Walkerville in 1978, it was with the vision and hope that it would become what I see happening today. A close community of artisans, shop owners, and restaurateurs that have a passion for the neighbourhood. It is events like “The Art of Beer” that I see the neighborhoods entrepreneurial spirit shine.” Julia Conlon

The Art of Beer is a celebration of the regions craftsmanship in beer making and the arts. In addition to showcasing many of Julia’s paintings, the evening will be full of the sounds of Midlife Jazz and the full flavours of Chef Dave Dimoglou of Willistead Restaurant.
